Descend into darkness
This guide is focused on educating the first brave testers, ready to delve into the depths of blockchain and into the test nets. This is not for the faint-hearted, this is the frontier. Come forth brave adventurer and harken to me. I will lay upon you words of great wisdom, words that may prove lifesaving for your perilous journey.
The (Meta)Mask
In order to traverse the deepest parts of the blockchain, every aspiring adventurer must first be adequately equipped for the journey down. One of the most useful tools anyone can have is the “Foxen Mask”, or “Metamask” in the tongue of the common folk. Through its cunning gaze, it will show you the way to the keys, your own private keys which will be needed to unlock the secrets of the underworld.
A network of caves lies beneath the Ethereum plane. A place dark and unholy, broken and untested, only the mightiest of heroes have journeyed there and returned to tell the tale. Let us begin by conjuring a spell through the Metamask, in order to show us the network you desire. Since you are still a youngling, we are visiting the Mumbai network, a somewhat less hostile environment to test your resilience and capabilities.
In order to make your MetaMask acquainted with Mumbai, you have to give it some critical information about the network in order to familiarize itself with the environment. Remember that Polygon talisman I gave you? This is the time to activate it.
Now let’s head to the entrance of the cave. In order to unlock the secrets of this cave network, you first need to see through the eyes of your Metamask and then introduce yourself to the Daemons that guard the gates.
The Fuel
In order to traverse further, you need some Ethereum. The purifying element will help you accomplish the tasks at hand by dispelling the darkness around you and conquering the will of the spirits hidden within the test nets. Ethereum can be found in certain holy wells which can be found at certain locations. Keep in mind that even though the location of these Ethereum wells is well documented, it seems that the wells will only grant small amounts of Ethereum per day. Task 1 — Learn how to command Daemons
Now that you have completed the initiation ritual, you are ready to complete your first deep-dive missions. In order to learn how to command the power of Daemons you first need to learn how to assemble daemonic scrolls, or as people often call them: the “Scripts”. Head over to the “My Page” section and use the “Add New Script” button.
You will be presented with a variety of actions that you can command Daemons to do for you. We will begin with simple Scripts that will help you get a general idea of how to create Scripts.
We all know why you are here, trying to learn the secrets of the Daemonic world. You want to loot some cheap Bitcoin when the price is right. Ok then, let me tell you a secret: You can automatically buy Bitcoin every time it meets your price criteria without ever worrying about it by utilizing the correct rules and actions governing the Daemonic world.
In case you want to experiment with the options, you can touch the question mark runes on the sidebar and their secrets will be revealed to you. For example, you might need to practice some caution while buying dips relentlessly. You can add the “Repetitions” rune to your arsenal in order to better manage how many times you want to scoop up that precious Bitcoin of yours.
Task 2— Bend Daemons to your will
You’ve learned the way of commanding the Daemonic essence but being the fearless adventurer you are, you feel a deep longing for more. A desire to go deeper and master the art of the Daemonic summoning ritual. Very well, let’s go a step further by creating a chain. A chain that binds Daemons to obey a series of your commands instead of just a mere simple instruction. This will give you the ability to go forth and let your imagination go wild for the possibilities are endless!
Since you are already familiar with the previous example, let us expand on that. Once you set up your command of amassing more Bitcoin when it reaches your desired price point, go ahead and use the fabled “Script Chain” that will bind Daemons to also your next command.
Being the treasure-lust adventurer that you are, you wouldn’t want to leave the spoils of conquest sitting idly in the treasure room. It only makes sense that you would want to make use of your newly acquired Bitcoin in order to… well, get more Bitcoin. For that, you will need a new skill which, luckily for you, I happen to know. 1…2…3…Poof! “Lightning Mastery” unlocked! You are now able to Zap In and Out of liquidity pools automatically and leverage your assets while being idle and let your newly tamed Daemonic servants cultivate the farmlands for you.
First of all, you need to select your Bitcoin with whatever other asset you want and specify the amount of the assets you are willing to sacrifice to the yield Gods. It is not necessary to own the asset you are willing to pair with your Bitcoin. Such is the power of the Zap that it will automagically use some of your Bitcoin to create a balanced Liquidity Potion for you. Focus your aim in the center and Zap them together to finish your Liquidity Potion. Always be careful while playing with lighting, and keep in mind: don’t cross the streams. You don’t want to end up riding the lightning, even though Bitcoin seems to like it…
Now that we’ve mastered the art of lightning bending, we would not want our newly Liquidity Potions to go to waste. Head towards the farmlands and enjoy that sweet sweet yield. On your way there, you might as well meet my ol’ friend Beefy, the yield cow. It’s one of the best Liquidity Potion caretakers out there… It will even take the initiative of reinvesting your profits for you, so you won’t have to worry about missing out on compounding interest either. Barren Wuffet, a wise shaman advises that you make sure that you don’t miss that.
Task 3 — Visit the treasure room
Finally, reaching the end of the dungeon, you would definitely want to park some of the loot safely, not wanting to risk anything happening to the spoils of your conquest. Well, let us pay a visit to Aave, the friendly Finnish ghost. Don’t be scared, it’s only here to spook away market dumps and volatility. It’s only natural that Aave really likes coins like DAI then, especially since it’s kinda golden in color. Let’s give Aave some DAI for safekeeping then.
As we approach the exit of the cave, light shines through and illuminates your weary body and battle-scarred armor. The journey made you a better adventurer, with more experience and know-how. New tricks up your sleeve and new weapons in your arsenal, to fuel your holy crusade towards financial freedom. Looking back on your journey, you feel glad that you made it and would like to have another go through everything you learned so far, just to make sure that everything is just right. Well, haven’t you noticed? I have been scribing and documenting your adventurers throughout our journey here. Look above! See your past scripts, all chained up, just before you submit your finalized script. You don’t want to find yourself signing a deal with the Daemon without knowing what the contract has in store for you.
